Jewellery remodelling is the process of transforming existing jewellery into entirely new designs. It can involve resetting stones into a new setting, melting down old gold to manufacture into a new piece, or combining elements from multiple pieces. At Robbie Chapman Jewellery, based in Sydney, every remodelling project begins with a private consultation where we really love to collaborate with each and every client as we understand the importance jewellery remodelling. Typically most jobs take four to eight weeks.

Heirloom and inherited jewellery
Family rings, brooches, pendants, and bangles passed down through generations. We redesign around the stone, preserving sentiment while creating something wearable and personal.
Resetting stones into new designs
Diamonds, sapphires, emeralds and other precious stones from old pieces can be removed and reset into entirely new settings.
Melting old gold for new pieces
Old chains, broken bangles, or unworn rings can be melted down and their gold reused in a new piece.

We assess your stone, metal purity, and structural integrity and give you an honest appraisal of what is possible, with then providing quotations.

Robbie develops and collaborates closely with you to come up with a new concept with sketches and CAD renderings.
Crafting
Depending on the design, we'll either handmake or cast your new beautiful piece with taking special care of your gold and gemstones along the way.
Reveal
A private reveal of your finished piece with full handover documentation.

Yes. If you want to retain your original stone, it will be professionally removed, assessed, and set into your new piece. We do not swap stones.
A typical remodelling project takes between four and eight weeks from design approval to completion. Simpler resets can sometimes be completed in two to three weeks.
Yes. Old gold from multiple pieces can be melted down, refined, and combined into a single new piece. We handle the full refining process.
