From there, a jeweller designs the ring - typically producing detailed sketches and CAD renderings - before selecting the diamond or gemstone to suit the setting. The piece is then hand-crafted and refined through fittings until it is exactly right. At Robbie Chapman Jewellery in Sydney, this entire process is personally guided by Robbie from the very first conversation, with a typical timeline of four to eight weeks from consultation to finished ring.

There are no rushed decisions in this process. Each step is designed to give you confidence - and to ensure the ring we create is something you will wear for a lifetime.
The Initial Connection
Starting the journey is simple. Reach out via email, call me directly, or schedule a dedicated time through my online calendar on the 'Book a Consult' page. We’ll discuss your initial design ideas, gemstone preferences, budget, and timeline. This is a relaxed, no-obligation conversation to explore the possibilities and outline our next steps.
The Private Consultation
We’ll meet for a private, obligation-free consultation in Sydney. This is where your vision begins to take shape. I will present a curated selection of gemstones for you to view in person, and together we’ll explore design concepts. I’ll hand-sketch ideas right in front of you, incorporating your partner’s style and any references you love. During this time, we will also discuss transparent pricing and options to ensure the design aligns perfectly with your expectations and budget.
Approx. 1 - 1.5 hrsThe Design Process
Following our consultation, I develop a detailed digital concept using CAD (Computer-Aided Design). These high-definition renderings allow you to visualize exactly how the finished piece will look from every angle. This is an iterative process; we will refine the design based on your feedback until you are genuinely excited and ready to move forward.
The Master Craft
Once the design and stones are finalized, your ring enters the workshop. It is handcrafted by skilled artisans using traditional goldsmithing techniques. Every element—from the precise setting of the stones to the final surface finish—is executed to our exact specifications. I will provide you with progress updates throughout this 4-to-8-week crafting period.
The Reveal
Once complete, we arrange a private viewing for the final reveal. Your ring will be presented in signature Robbie Chapman Jewellery packaging, accompanied by its certificate of authenticity, stone documentation, and aftercare guidance. To ensure a flawless experience, I also offer complimentary resizing should the fit need adjustment after the proposal.
